Australian-made,
high-strength battens

Our battens are used by light-gauge steel framing companies in installing building steel frames, as well as builders, tradespeople and home improvement enthusiasts across Australia.

Our roof battens

Named for their similarity to the outline of a top hat, these roof battens are fabricated from high-tensile steel treated for enhanced strength or resistance to corrosion.

Metal battens are generally stronger and longer lasting than their timber analogue. They are also faster and easier to store, handle and fix.

Steel battens keep their strength throughout their lifespan and improve the performance of roofing or cladding systems.

Fabricated based on Australian Standards

There are many reasons to use steel battens to fix a ceiling. Ceiling battens create a small gap in the ceiling that allows moisture and condensation to dissipate.

Our battens are made using high quality steel that complies with relevant Australian Standards. We fabricate roof and ceiling battens known as top hat [battens] because of their similarity to top hats when seen laterally.

They afford you the choice of a range of materials by enabling a stronger connection between the ceiling and the frame.

7 reasons to use steel battens

  1. Our roof battens are fabricated from steel that can withstand a force of nature. Battens may be invisible but they are, literally, what keeps an entire roof together.

  2. All that steam we produce will eventually build up. Using battens allows ample space for that condensation. Hence, the moisture won’t build up where it shouldn’t.

  3. Metal battens are consistently alike and always true. They also keep what’s around them on the straight and narrow.

  4. Our battens are easy to stack up and store or transport. They are easy to handle, manipulate and install.

  5. Steel battens last a long time and keep working every day. Corrosion and warping under pressure is designed out of them. Also termites are not a concern when it comes to steel.

  6. Metal battens are increasingly used in residential building projects across Australia. They are in demand because they work.
